Cal is from Windsor, Canada, a border town just a stone’s throw from Detroit, Michigan. He holds a BA and MA in Cultural History from the University of Windsor (Canada) and McGill University respectively. He completed his MLIS at Western University in 2018. His most recent library appointment was at the University of Waterloo, Canada. His research has been published in Gender & History and the Journal of Critical Library and Information Studies. His current research looks at digital knowledge infrastructure in public higher-ed. He also serves on the editorial team for the Journal of Indian Ocean World Studies, an OA journal published by McGill University.

Cal is looking forward to working with students, staff, and faculty at New College to develop new, or expand existing digital scholarship projects, including text and social network analysis, mapping, digital collections, and data visualization. In addition to all things higher-ed, Cal is very passionate about the Toronto Maple Leafs and Manchester City Football Club.
