Provost Brad Thiessen

The Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs is a tenured faculty member who serves as the President’s liaison with the faculty in all matters pertaining to the academic programs and oversees the various offices that directly support the academic programs.  The Provost oversees the Academic Divisions, Center for Career Engagement & Opportunity, Library, Interdisciplinary programs, Institutional Research and Assessment, Office of Research Programs and Services, and the Study Abroad office.

About the Provost

Dr. Bradley Thiessen joined New College in 2016 as the director of institutional performance assessment and has served in many positions during his time at New College, including Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges liaison, professor of statistics, president’s chief of staff, and interim vice president of student affairs. Dr. Thiessen has a PhD and M.A. from the University of Iowa in educational measurement and statistics, and a B.A. in secondary mathematics education from St. Ambrose University. He also has an accreditation as a professional statistician from the American Statistical Association.
