It’s easy to get a career advantage at New College — complete the Novo Career Advantage, our four-year plan to future success for undergraduates.

The Novo Career Advantage plan helps you prioritize your professional development in simple steps integrated throughout your entire academic experience – so you won’t feel overwhelmed in your 4th year.  Completing the Novo Career Advantage is expected of all undergraduate students.

Each step has a recommended contract in which they should be completed to ensure you stay the course!

Who completes the Novo Career Advantage?
All undergraduate students.

How do I complete the Novo Career Advantage?
You can complete the steps of the Novo Career Advantage whenever you’re ready or as recommended by the plan. The steps may also be integrated into class requirements or discussed during advising sessions with your faculty advisor.

I am a transfer student. Do I still need to complete the Novo Career Advantage?
Transfer students are also expected to complete the Novo Career Advantage. Transfer students can work with their career coach on how to adjust the recommended timeline of completing the steps so that it’s easy to prioritize.

How will the Novo Career Advantage help me?
The secret to professional success after graduating from New College is being very confident and well developed in your ability to convincingly communicate your skills and translate your academic experiences to non-academic audiences. Starting early on practicing these skills and having a plan towards a professional direction are also key. The Novo Career Advantage provides you with a simple way to meet these goals and prioritize your future.

⇒ Complete Handshake profile (Handshake is linked in myNCF)

⇒ Explore options for resume building experiences with faculty advisor and CEO Career Coach (internships, Research Experiences for Undergraduates, study abroad, campus leadership, jobs, volunteering, career-building ISPs)

⇒ Resume/CV Writing or Review appointment with CEO

⇒ Participate in the Novo Network Mentorship Program or schedule a networking appointment with CEO Career Coach

⇒ Create LinkedIn Profile to network for contacts and experiences

⇒ Schedule a mock interview with the CEO

⇒ Schedule a Strategic Career Planning appointment with CEO Career Coach
