The Counseling and Wellness Center provides medical services including a range of primary care, referral, and educational services, for currently enrolled New College and USF Sarasota-Manatee students.
Medical services must be scheduled through the call center (941-487-4254 press 2 for medical services) and will be offered through Tele-health, video consultation, or in-person appointments at SMD 105 (portable on the USFSM campus). We understand the high levels of concern and need for testing for COVID-19 and as such we want to provide safe means to do so. All appointments will be completed through a telehealth platform where our provider will be able to complete their assessment and minimize the risk to the campus community of possible spread. If there are concerns that need further testing, our practitioner will be able to direct you to the next steps. We will still have the same limitations of providing services to people who are currently in Florida, but that means we will also be able to provide services to people who are not on campus and can access a safe place to do a video conference. Unfortunately, we are only able to provide services to students during the fall and spring semester they are enrolled in. We know that this is not a perfect solution, so please let us know the difficulties you are experiencing in accessing our services or other treatment options.
Here at New College, we have partnered with USF Health to bring you enhanced and more comprehensive medical services! Our services function just as a typical community primary care facility would, but with an office located on campus for the students’ convenience. Here is a guide to help you understand how our services work.
During the Fall and Spring terms, medical services are available with a medical practitioner. Services are not available during Summer term or Winter break.
