Don’t Cancel Class: Integrate Career Education into Academics

Ensuring all students learn essential career planning skills requires your help. You can make career education an academic priority for students by inviting the CEO to teach a career-related workshop in class or assigning an outside-of-class career activity or appointment. Complete the CEO Class Workshop or Appointment/Assignment Request Form. You can also recommend or assign a Novo Career Advantage activity as a goal on a contract with your advisees.

LinkedIn Learning

LinkedIn Learning is a great resource for people at any stage in their career to gain and demonstrate knowledge and skills on your LinkedIn profile. LinkedIn Learning is an award-winning industry leader in online training, with a digital library of over 6,000 courses covering a wide range of technical, business, software and creative topics. Accessible 24/7 from your desktop or mobile device, visit LinkedIn Learning by logging in through the myNCF portal. You may watch an entire course, or individual videos – some are as short as four or five minutes. You will be able to bookmark courses that suit your interests, keep track of the courses you have taken, and when you complete a course, you’ll receive a certificate. You have the opportunity to refine or develop your professional skills, learn new software, and explore other areas as you plan for your career growth.

Also, use LinkedIn Learning to supplement student skill development in your classes or with your advisees.  LinkedIn Learning content can be integrated into Canvas. Educational Technology Services can provide support to mapping and integrating LinkedIn Learning skill-building content into courses.
