Where to Park

We welcome visitors to our campus! Please follow these directions when parking on campus.

During the business day, visitors to the campus should use the reserved “Visitor Spaces.” Please note that these spaces are available for a limited time period. You may visit our Maps and Directions page (see below) to find the parking area closest to your destination. On Admissions Tour days, parents of prospective students may park anywhere in the vicinity of the Admissions Welcome Center (College Hall).

Free parking is available outside of designated visitor spots for special events such as lectures and performances, most of which take place outside of normal business hours. There is free parking at the Sudakoff Conference Center, at the Caples Fine Arts Complex and Mildred Sainer Pavilion, and in front of College Hall for special events. For large events such as fundraisers and Commencement, our friendly parking staff and Campus Police will direct you.

USF Sarasota-Manatee: New College and the University of South Florida Sarasota Manatee share the Jane Bancroft Cook Library, Campus Police and Campus Bookstore, so New College parking permits are valid on the USFSM campus and visa versa.

Any New College faculty, staff or student who is not in possession of his/her permit must also obtain a temporary permit.

Citations

To ensure permitted parking space is available to permitted drivers, New College will issue citations to violators. Should you be issued a citation and feel it is in error, you may appeal the citation. Please see the regulations for details.

Electric Vehicles

There are six electric vehicle parking stations, one reserved for disabled parking permit holders, in the parking lot adjacent to the Heiser Natural Sciences building.  As these are charging stations and not parking spots, vehicles are only allowed to occupy a charging spot while the vehicle is actively being charged. Fully charged vehicles must be removed from the charging spot within 30 minutes after charging for the convenience of other users.

A ChargePoint RFID card  (www.chargepoint.com) is needed to access charging.
