Frank Alcock is the Director of Academic Initiatives and Special Projects and a Professor of Political Science and Environmental Studies at New College of Florida. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Duke University, a M.A. in International Affairs from George Washington University and a B.A. in Economics from Binghamton University. He has been at New College since 2003 teaching courses on world politics, international law and environmental policy. His academic research and publications have focused on fisheries policy, environmental politics and science-policy relationships. From 2006 to 2010 he served as the Director of a Marine Policy Institute at Mote Marine Laboratory. From 2009 to 2012 he was a Senior Fellow with the Collins Center for Public Policy. He has served as a Senior U.S. Fulbright Scholar to New Zealand and a Belfer Fellow in the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He also spent five years at the U.S. Department of Energy. Frank appears regularly as a political analyst with ABC News in Sarasota and was a candidate for the Florida state Senate in 2016.
