Providing value at a low cost

If you look at the affordable college rankings you’ll notice something about the top three schools — they are all in Florida.

The University of Florida ranks first, New College second, and the University of South Florida ranks third. In a state usually seen as dumb with the likes of “Florida man” news stories, this may come as a surprise. Continuing on the list, there are actually four more Florida schools in the top 50 (UCF, FAMU, FSU, and FIU). If you look at the US News rankings, it’s not like all the Florida schools are in the top 25 — so why is the value so good? The value rankings are so good because Florida has a very robust scholarship program that makes college extremely cheap, to the point where it’s free for some.
