New College hosted admitted students and their families on campus last Saturday, April 6. The Office of Admissions hosts Admitted Student Day on the Bayfront each year to give students an opportunity to connect to campus and learn about next steps to complete enrollment.
Humanities Division Chair and Professor of English and Gender Studies Miriam Wallace welcomed students and their families to campus following a meet-and-greet with faculty and members of the administration. The panel included Wallace, Associate Provost Suzanne Sherman, and Associate Professor of Biology and Environmental Studies Brad Oberle.
The group attended a series of information sessions tailored for admitted and enrolled students. The Counseling and Wellness Center drew a crowd, and the Student Activities and Campus Engagement — or SA[u]CE — office, whose presentation was riddled with sauce puns, was also a guest favorite.
Families enjoyed a bayside taco bar before attending area of concentration and student activities fairs. Faculty members were on hand to answer questions about the many subject areas students can study at New College, and representatives from a wide range of student organizations vied for students’ attention.
Campus Life is organizing an event for students to visit campus during the summer months before attending Orientation in the fall.
