Fun and Fitness Expo at New College Shows Ways to Live Happier and Healthier
The fourth annual Fun & Fitness Expo, at New College of Florida on Wednesday, Feb. 11, highlights ways people can live happier and healthier.
The completely free event will feature more than 70 vendors, offering items and services, including free haircuts, makeup and manicures to massage and acupuncture. There also will be food from more than a dozen restaurants and markets.
Looking to get more active? The Expo will have a climbing wall and two bounce houses from Do The Happy Bounce, an electric bicycle demonstration from Pedego, giveaways from Treeumph, the high-ropes facility in eastern Manatee County, yoga demonstrations from Rosemary Court Yoga and dance and Zumba performances from Danz 4 Fitness.
Just want to relax with something cuddly? There will be furry and feathery creatures and information on hand, from Big Cat Habitat, Cat Depot, Humane Society of Manatee County, Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue, Sarasota Jungle Gardens and the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Animal Services.
Want to check on your health, or help others? There will be health screenings and testing for sexually transmitted infections and HIV from the Sarasota County Health Department, and blood donation with Suncoast Community Blood Bank.
Events will run from 1:00 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11. There will be at least 15 door prizes given away during the expo, and music and dance performances throughout the event.
The Expo is sponsored by New College of Florida, University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee, and the Counseling and Wellness Center. For more information, visit http://ncf.local/expo and for a full list of participating organizations, visit http://ncf.local/expo-participants.
