Mans Hulden is Associate Professor of Computer Science in the Natural Sciences Division at New College of Florida. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Arizona in 2009. He previously held positions at the University of Colorado Boulder, served as a Marie Curie Fellow at the University of Helsinki, and was a visiting professor at the University of the Basque Country. His research focuses on machine learning for natural language processing, finite automata, neural models for NLP and their interpretability, and neural models for low-resource learning. He teaches courses in algorithms and theory of computation, machine learning, natural language processing, and other AI-related topics, including a periodically taught Music & AI course. He has developed widely used open-source tools for linguistic computation. He is recognized for his contributions to natural language processing and finite automata.
