New College of Florida Board of Trustees Meeting, Feb. 28, 2023

Sarasota, Fla. –  During the Tuesday, February 28, 2023 meeting, the New College of Florida Board of Trustees received President Corcoran’s report on the College. Among his remarks included highlighting the extraordinary opportunities in new student recruitment in order to make New College a student’s first choice, and outlining key areas that would create and support an excellent liberal arts institution and education.

Also during the meeting, the board reviewed proposed policies for the implementation of diversity, equity, and inclusion changes at New College and eliminated the Office of Outreach and Inclusive Excellence. 

The board of trustees also reviewed the status of the New College of Florida United Faculty of Florida collective bargaining agreement and updates to the College’s 2022-23 operating budget.

“Today’s board meeting was the first with Interim President Corcoran in attendance and we are excited to have him at the helm as we head towards a new vision and future for New College,” said Debra Jenks, Chair, New College of Florida Board of Trustees. “We greatly appreciated the presentation from the Board of Governors and also the guidance of our new counsel, Bill Galvano. This board meeting is one of many that will be open, productive and transformative.”
