5th Annual Dance for Parkinson Event

Date and Time

Location

College Hall Music Room 351 College Drive Sarasota, FL 34243

Come learn about the collaboration between New College of Florida, Sarasota Contemporary Dance, and Parkinson Place!

We will start with a Meet & Greet and Light Bites followed by an open “Dance for Parkinson” Mini-Class with live drumming. Afterwards meet NCF students who will share their experiences from this semester’s Brain, Dance, and Parkinson’s Class taught by NCF Professor of Psychology, Dr. Peter Cook and NCF Dance Instructor/Artist in Residence Leymis Bolanos Wilmott.

This is a great opportunity for community members to move with and speak to participants from both Parkinson’s Place and students from New College. Joining us for this event are Sarasota Contemporary Dance teaching artist Xiao-Xuan Yang Dancigers and Percussionist Michael Rutherford.

This event is co-sponsored by Sarasota Contemporary Dance and Parkinson’s Place.

The mission of Parkinson Place is to meet the physical, mental, emotional, and social needs of those living with Parkinson’s disease through education, empowerment, support, and community resources.
