Dr. Kwon is a linguist, language educator, and writing teacher. Prior to joining New College, she was an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the English Department at the University of South Florida. Throughout her career, she has taught a diverse array of classes such as first-year composition, advanced writing, linguistics, Korean, and English as a second language.
Dr. Kwon earned her Ph.D. in English Language and Linguistics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research and teaching interests include second language acquisition, second language writing, and language pedagogy. As a transnational and bilingual educator, she loves discussing grammar, language variation, and multilingualism with her students.
When not working, you can find her playing tennis or spending time with her two cats, Hans and Greta.
