Prior to New College, Dr. Tackitt oversaw the first year writing program at USF where she developed corequisite writing workshops and worked with student athletes. Before USF, Dr. Tackitt served as a faculty member and director at Eckerd College where she taught Rhetoric and Humanities, facilitated faculty development, and focused on theories and practices for supporting nontraditional students and adult learners.
Dr. Tackitt’s primary research areas focus on curricular development and assessment. As the current Co-Editor of The Journal of Writing Analytics, she is excited to connect her research to the unique teaching and learning opportunities provided at NCF.
When not working with students, she enjoys playing tennis with her husband and spending time with her retired greyhounds.
