New College of Florida presents the Florida 10 for 10 Scholarship Initiative. Ten NCF undergraduate students will be selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship for the Spring 2027 semester.
A Decade of Excellence
For the tenth consecutive year, U.S. News & World Report has ranked Florida as the #1 state in the nation for higher education. This milestone recognizes our state’s commitment to offering high-quality, affordable, and accessible public education.
To celebrate this achievement, the State University System of Florida has launched the Florida 10 for 10 Scholarship Initiative. Supported by the New College of Florida Foundation, NCF is awarding ten $1,000 scholarships to undergraduate students who demonstrate academic focus, personal growth, and a commitment to our campus community. We invite you to share your story of achievement with us.
The Prompt: Share Your Story
Submission Guidelines & Prompt
To enter, prepare either a written essay or a video essay addressing your experiences. Your submission must directly address the following three points:
• Your story of achievement: What unique, meaningful, or significant thing have you accomplished during your time at NCF?
• Why you chose to pursue your higher education in the state of Florida.
• Why you chose to attend New College of Florida.
Submission Formats:
• Written Essay: Must be 500 words or fewer, written in English.
• Video Essay: Must be 2 minutes or less in length. Accepted file formats: .mp4, .mov, or .mpg. Maximum file size: 1 GB.
Important Requirement: All submissions must be your own original work, created solely by you without the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools.
Key Dates & Eligibility
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be a currently enrolled, full-time undergraduate student at New College of Florida.
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- Limit of one (1) entry per person.
Timeline:
- Applications Open: Monday, August 3, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. EST
- Application Deadline: Friday, October 2, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EST
- Evaluation & Selection Period: October 7, 2026 – October 30, 2026
- Winner Announcements: Early November 2026 (Awards will be applied to Spring 2027 financial aid)
