New College is committed to making your undergraduate education as affordable as possible, and offers generous scholarships to all admitted transfer students in addition to other forms of merit and need-based financial assistance.
We offer scholarship funding to nearly 100% of our incoming students who are U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent resident aliens, or eligible non-citizens. For all but a few scholarships, the admission application serves as the scholarship application. If a student qualifies for more than one scholarship, we will assign the best option (unless the scholarship indicates it may “stack”). All scholarships are subject to renewal requirements and to availability of funding. Institutional funding is not available to students who already hold a bachelor’s or advanced degree.
Scholarships & Residency
Scholarship funding amounts are tied to residency for tuition purposes. For example, a student who is a Florida resident for tuition purposes will not be eligible for assignment of the Presidential Scholarship for out-of-state students. Please review this information on Residency Guidelines, further questions may be directed to the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid at email@example.com.

The Access Leadership Initiative and the Barancik Scholarship were created in 2020, funded by a grant from the Charles and Margery Barancik Foundation. It is intended to reduce or eliminate financial barriers that might otherwise prevent a high-potential student with ties to the Manatee/Sarasota area from benefitting from the exceptional preparation for future success and leadership that a New College education can provide. Scholarship amounts: up to $7500 for students residing on campus, up to $2500 for students residing off campus. Amounts for scholarship funding may vary each year, according to other gift aid in the student financial aid package, and annual eligibility for need-based gift aid as determined by the FAFSA. Total financial aid package may not exceed the Cost of Attendance. Instructions on how to apply were sent to all applicants and admits. Applications for transfer students are due May 1, 2022.
Scholarship Value: Up to $5000 (one-time award for fall of 2022)
This scholarship will be assigned to a veteran with financial need, who has been honorably discharged from the U.S. Military. The scholarship candidate must complete the FAFSA and submit a short biography, military history, and a short narrative about their studies and goals, to be published in the SMOF monthly e-newsletter, The Breeze.
