Join us for the first in a series of “Bayfront Dialogues” hosted on our New College campus.
Unbeknownst to most Floridians, this coming Election Day will feature a controversial ballot amendment (Amendment 2) that will seek to abolish Florida’s Constitution Revision Commission (CRC) which convenes every twenty years. Former state Senator Lisa Carlton will be a featured panelist along with long-serving Sarasota Tax Collector Barbara Ford-Coates and League of Women Voters’ Board Member Felicia Jett. Other invitations are pending. Senator Carlton served as a member of the most recent CRC in 2018-19 and Ford-Coates served on the 1998-99 Commission.
The New Topics lecture series runs every year from October through April and features a slate of renowned speakers.
