The Area of Concentration in psychology is designed primarily for students wishing to pursue graduate work in the field. The program includes courses often listed as prerequisites for graduate schools in the discipline. The major also should provide the breadth characteristic of a liberal arts education so students are encouraged to take courses in other disciplines that will complement their programs. Recommended courses include those from the general areas of philosophy, mathematics, computer science, biology, physics, anthropology, sociology, political science, and religion.
