Winners Announced for 2011 Annual New College Juried Student Art Exhibition
An award reception announcing the 2011 winners for the annual New College Juried Student Art Exhibition was held on Thursday, February 3. The first place winner was Nathan Duvall for his oil on canvas, “Threshold.” Second place went to Elizabeth Tracy, for her wood relief, “Untitled.” Alex Miranda received third place for “IKEA”, a digital print.
Lending special prestige to the awards was the fact that the art show was judged by Dr. Matthew McLendon, who is associate curator of modern and contemporary art at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art. The art exhibition, organized under the direction of Kim Anderson, assistant professor of art, features a selection of artwork including sculpture, painting, drawing, and photography.
