Staying safe and healthy as we move forward
There are currently no reported cases of COVID-19 on our campus. That said, some of you have friends or relatives who have contracted the virus. Please feel free to reach out to me—I’ll try to help.
Now that we have transitioned to remote learning during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, online classes have placed an enormous burden on students, staff and faculty.
Some of you are caring for small children or ill family members, and some are coping with the sudden unemployment of a parent, partner or other household resident.
For students, especially, I know it is difficult to focus on your classes with other priorities simultaneously competing for your attention. Please communicate with your faculty members if you are feeling overwhelmed. Our main goal is to help you get through this semester and, for thesis students, to have you graduate on time.
Inseparable from this goal is the safety of faculty, staff and students. In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, faculty and employees who are coming to campus and entering buildings should email Custodial Director Sheila Foley at [email protected] with the name of the building and office hours. We will focus preventative cleaning protocols only in active buildings.
We are planning to host a virtual community forum for faculty and staff, and another for students (details to be announced).
Please continue to take preventative measures to avoid contracting or spreading COVID-19. Stay safe and healthy.
All Best,
Don O’Shea
