New College’s vegan dining options earning high marks from students
New College is getting praise on an animal rights group’s website for vegan options in its dining menus.
Peta2, the world’s largest youth animal rights organization, surveyed students at thousands of colleges across the country about vegan options available on their campuses. The group rated schools based on student responses and reviews, and dining hall menus. New College earned an A grade in the organization’s Vegan Report Card, far above the state’s C average. The College earned high marks for offering vegan options at every meal, and incorporating vegan replacements for dairy products and desserts into its menus.
“Occasionally their vegan options are so good,” said Eva, a New College student who responded to peta2’s survey, “I would have thought they were from a restaurant!”
Eighty percent of students who responded to peta2’s questionnaire reported being satisfied with New College’s vegan options.
