New College Treeleaders Brimming With Spirit

The New College Treeleaders were founded in 2023 by a passionate group of students. A passion for cheer and a healthy dose of school spirit led to the creation of the new club.

“I cheered my junior and senior year (in high school), and I really liked it and I wanted to cheer in college,” said Naomi Nerlien, a first-year student. “Gaby Ott in the SAuCE Office helped me find a sponsor and put together the Treeleaders.”

The group has hosted a pair of pep rallies for students, faculty and staff, and attended New College sporting events to cheer on the Mighty Banyans. The pep rallies have been well organized, including games for students and employees to compete and win prize packs, plenty of music, and a choreographed dance routine.
