New College of Florida Students Present Thesis Projects, April 8

April 5, 2011—New College of Florida students will present their capstone thesis work on Friday, April 8, at the 2011 Thesis Showcase beginning at 2 pm in Harry Sudakoff Conference Center, 5845 General Dougher Place. The showcase is an informal and collaborative event for students to discuss their research and practice their presentations prior to defending the thesis to their Baccalaureate Committee. The event is free and open to the public.

Students will present 15-minute oral presentations on a range of subjects, including “Engaging the Dragon: Controversial Dimensions of Chinese Foreign Policy,” “In Defense of Jewish Manhood: Monotheism, Circumcision, and Gender in Freud’s Construction of Jewish Identity” and “Wild Cats in Captivity: On Improving Captive Environments with Regard to Biology and Behavior.”

The showcase will also include three panel discussions: “2011-2012 U.S. Student Fulbright Program Awardees,” “Your Thesis, My Life: A Faculty Perspective” and “My Thesis, My Life: A Student Perspective.” In addition, students will answer questions about their thesis research during poster sessions.
