New College Kicks Off 2010-2011 School Year with Orientation and Mini Classes this Week
(August 16, 2010) — A bustle returned to the New College of Florida campus in Sarasota this weekend, as around 240 new students arrived with plenty of gear in tow. Orientation week for new students started on Sunday (August 15) and runs through next Sunday (August 22), with plenty of fun activities planned. Returning students will be back on Wednesday, August 18, with mini classes set to run on Thursday and Friday throughout the day. The first day of classes for the 2010-2011 school year, which marks the 50th Anniversary of New College’s founding, is on Monday, August 23.

New College’s enrollment for the upcoming year is expected to top 800 students for the second year in a row. In 2009-2010, New College had an enrollment of 823 students.
