Graduating New College Art Students Exhibit Works
The unique perspectives of eight graduating New College of Florida seniors will be on view in the Ishermann Gallery at New College for an exhibition titled “Octonocular.”
The title refers to the phenomenon of having eight eyes. Paintings, drawings, sculpture, videos and installations by Isabelle DuVall, Coral Chepren-Moore, Samantha Kreeger, Jennifer Ng, Paige Rawitz, Jeanine Tatlock, Wesley Thorp and Rachael Zucker are on display through May 18.
An artists’ reception is from 6 to 8 p.m. May 8 in the gallery, which is in the Caples Fine Arts Complex behind Mildred Sainer Pavilion at 5313 Bay Shore Road, Sarasota.
“This year’s exceptional selection of artwork demonstrates creative ingenuity exemplified by the synthesis of historical and new genres, technical mastery, and an unexpected juxtaposition of materials and stylistic traditions,” said Kim Anderson, associate professor of art at New College.
