[Education] New College Spreads Knowledge to Middle East
Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish’s three daughters and niece were killed by Israeli forces in 2009. Dedicating his life to their memory, Dr. Aduelaish looks now to other young women to fulfill the legacy his daughters could not. He created the Daughters for Life Foundation to enable young women in the Middle East with opportunities to earn college degrees and return to their homes to make a difference in the world. New College of Florida announced Wednesday that it will be partnering with the Daughters for Life Foundation on a pilot program to bring 10 first-year undergraduate students each year for three-year stays. “This is a moment I can pray to my daughters, ‘You will be alive through the good deeds of good people,’ ” Dr. Abuelaish told the small audience at New College through Skype.
