A Big Gift Helps Lake Worth High Students Get Needed Access to Internet

When the Career Center on the second floor of Lake Worth High School lost some of its computers to another part of the school last year, the school’s alumni stepped in to help. The school’s alumni foundation spent $5,000 to buy eight Dell computers for the center — a place where the school’s juniors and seniors go to explore college and career options. … During an instructional session in the Career Center for juniors in late September, Gardens Pierre used one of the computers to look at New College of Florida and the University of North Florida, schools he might attend some day to study education. Pierre wants to be an elementary school teacher.
