New College of Florida--the state’s designated honors college--has welcomed its largest incoming class since 2016.

Every year since The Princeton Review began publishing its “best colleges” rankings in 1992, New College of Florida—the state’s designated honors college—has made the list.

Standardized test scores used to make or break acceptance into college. But, as more and more colleges and universities drop testing requirements, how well a student can articulate their diverse lived experiences in their applications is becoming a deciding factor on whether they are accepted.

Fiske Guide to Colleges—one of the most widely respected college guides in the country—has named New College of Florida one of the nation’s 20 “Best Buy” Colleges and Universities of 2023.

Jayne Gardiner, Ph.D.—an associate professor of biology and the director of the Pritzker Marine Biology Research Center at New College of Florida—has been named a rotating program director for the Biological Oceanography Program of the National Science Foundation (NSF).

To encourage young girls to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields, New College and Girls Inc. launched the Eureka! Program in Summer 2021.

This summer, New College of Florida hosted two programs for local middle and high school students from June 6 to 17 on campus.

Studying French in Senegal this fall will be a dream realized for New College of Florida third-year Michael Bolesh, who was just selected to be a Boren scholar.

For the first time since 2019, the New College of Florida community gathered on Fri. May 20, 2022, on the College Hall bayfront for Commencement 2022. The event revived a longstanding New College tradition of gathering by the water for graduation, which had been delayed by the pandemic in 2020 and moved to an offsite location in 2021.
