The New College Fund provides flexible resources on an annual basis to allow New College of Florida to bring extraordinary students and excellent faculty to a dynamic, intellectually driven, learning community.
Making a New College Education Available to All
The New College Fund is used for expenses that state funding and student tuition are not able to cover. It provides scholarships for students in need, funds student research and travel grants, and supports faculty research and travel. Your financial support of New College is an acknowledgment that we are doing a good job preparing liberal arts graduates for a world of possibilities.
Student scholarships represent the greatest need. Scholarships are especially critical for students who aspire to be the first generation in their family to attend college, and for bright young people from outside Florida who are attracted to our unique liberal arts education, but for whom the out-of-state tuition is daunting. Scholarships can bring them here, and can allow them to leave virtually debt-free.
Your annual gift is a way to show your appreciation for the New College’s unique attributes, including small average class size, individualized learning and faculty excellence. It is a way to say “thank you” for the important role that New College plays in higher education, and in enriching our region.

Absolutely! Every gift of any size makes a big difference. Student tuition and State of Florida appropriations cover only part of the cost of a New College education. The remaining expenses are provided by the New College Fund, along with support from endowments, grants and other gifts. This public/private partnership allows New College to attract prestigious faculty and top-ranked students from around the world, and to provide rigorous, individualized learning within the state university system.
Gifts to The New College Fund support current year needs including financial aid, faculty positions, faculty and student research, and vital institutional support. A New College Fund gift is a gift of any amount that is not a planned gift, capital project gift or gift to an endowment. A New College Fund gift may be a major gift ($25,000 or more) and/or part of a multi-year gift and includes gifts made to support major college events and series. Most New College Fund gifts are undesignated and used to satisfy the greatest needs of the college in the areas listed above. Some New College Fund gifts are designated by the donor for a particular area of need, such as student research.
Pledges are welcome and pledge payments may be made in convenient installments, to be completed by June 30th.
