DeSantis Appoints Michael Kessie to Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission

Gov. Ron DeSantis recently appointed Michael Kessie to the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission. Kessie, of Bradenton, is the New College of Florida Police Department’s chief of police. Previously, he served as a patrol officer, sergeant, detective lieutenant, assistant chief and deputy chief of operations for the Schererville, Indiana Police Department and deputy sheriff for the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office. Kessie is a member of the Florida Police Chiefs Association, International Association of Chiefs of Police and the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Professionals.
