02/12/21, 12:04 p.m.:  Campus Police received a report of a virtual presentation being interrupted by unknown person(s).  The matter remains under investigation.

02/11/21, 3:36 p.m.:  Campus Police received a report from USF Security of the theft of university property.  A non-affiliated suspect employed by an outside vendor was issued a No Trespass Order and left the area.

02/06/21, 11:47 p.m.:
Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated traffic violator near General Spaatz and US 41.  The driver was arrested for Driving While Suspended, since December of 2008, and Attaching a Tag not Assigned to the Vehicle.  The driver was taken to the Sarasota County Jail.

01/31/21, 10:38 p.m.
:  Campus Police discovered a non-affiliate near the Palmer D building.  The subject had previously been issued a No Trespass Order and was arrested for Trespass after Warning and a Sarasota County Court warrant for Violation of the Comprehensive Treatment court program.  The subject was taken to the Sarasota County jail.

01/31/21, 1:10 a.m.:  Campus Police observed a non-affiliated driver with no headlights at US 41 and College Drive.  The driver was issued a criminal traffic summons for Knowingly Driving While Suspended, January 2017.  The driver was released on a signature.

01/29/21, 9:15 p.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violator at US 41 and College Drive.  The driver was issued a criminal traffic summons for Knowingly Driving with an Expired Temporary Tag, September 2020.  The driver was released on a signature.

01/25/21, 11:38 p.m
.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated traffic violator with an expired tag since 2019, at General Spaatz and US 41.  The driver was issued a criminal traffic summons for Driving While License Suspended (since 2019, 2nd offense), Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle, and Attached Tag/Sticker not assigned to the Vehicle Being Driven.  The driver was released on a signature.


01/23/21, 2:10 p.m.:
 Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated traffic violator on the east campus.  The driver was issued a criminal summons for Expired Driver’s License More Than 6 Months, July 2015, and for No Insurance.  The driver was released

01/17/21, 10:41 p.m
.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation near the east campus.  The driver was issued a criminal summons in Sarasota County Court for Driving with an Expired Driver’s License Greater than 6 Months, March of 2014.  The driver was released.

01/17/21, 3:40 a.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation near the east campus.  The driver was issued a criminal summons for Driving without a License in Sarasota County Court.  The driver was released.

01/16/21, 7:13 p.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation near the east campus.  The driver was issued two criminal summons, one for Knowingly Driving while Suspended and one for Operating an Unregistered Vehicle in Sarasota County Court.  The matter remains under investigation by the Sarasota Police Department and Campus Police as the plate was removed from another vehicle in Sarasota.  The driver was released.

01/15/21, 10:01 p.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation near the east campus.  The driver was issued a criminal summons for Knowingly Driving while Suspended in Sarasota County Court.  The driver was released.

01/10/21, 11:31 a.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation near the east NCF campus.  The driver was issued a criminal traffic summons in Sarasota County Court for No Driver’s License.  No further law enforcement action was necessary.

01/04/21, 2:01 a.m.:
 Campus Police received a report of a verbal disturbance between two non-affiliates near DRH/GRH.  Investigation revealed that one of the vehicles in the disturbance struck an NCF student’s vehicle parked near DRH/GRH. The matter remains under investigation.

12/31/20, 12:14 p.m.:  Campus Police received a report from an NCF staff member that a catamaran belonging to NCF had been damaged at the Sail Club/Caples Bayfront.  A copy of the report will be sent to NCF Student Affairs.

12/30/20, 8:00 p.m.:  Campus Police participated in a traffic project with the Florida Highway Patrol under mutual aid to reduce drunk and dangerous driving.  A total of 3 citations, 4 warnings and 1 arrest were made by Campus Police during this operation.

12/24/20, 5:13 p.m.
:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation near the east NCF campus.  The driver was issued a criminal traffic summons for driving on a revoked or suspended license in Sarasota County Court.  No further law enforcement action was needed.

12/23/20, 12:43 p.m.:  Campus Police received a theft report from an NCF staff member of property belonging to the college found in a student’s residence hall room.  The matter was turned over to Student Affairs.  A copy of the report will be sent to Student Affairs.

12/22/20, 7:37 p.m
.:  Campus Police observed a subject riding a bike pulling another bike on General Twinning near the SRQ airport entrance on the campus camera system.  The subject fled on the railroad tracks on University Parkway and eluded capture.  The stolen bike and bolt cutters were recovered on the railroad tracks.  The bike possibly came from the GRH/DRH area.  The matter remains under investigation. 12/12/20, 4:28 a.m.
:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliate for a traffic violation on US 41 near General Spaatz.  The driver was issued a criminal summons for No Driver’s License in Sarasota County Court.  No further law enforcement action was necessary.

12/07/20, 4:56 p.m.:  Campus Police received a report from an NCF student of the theft of their unregistered/locked bike for the area of X Residence Hall.

11/25/20, 11:10 a.m
.:  Campus Police received a report from an NCF student of oars being stolen from the NCF Sail Club in the summer of 2020 on the Caples Bayfront.

11/19/20, 8:23 a.m.
:  Campus Police received reports from two NCF staff members of a subject near the ACE building.  Investigation revealed that the non-affiliate had been issued a No Trespass Order (NTO) on the NCF campus on 11/17/20 and had been warned on at least three previous occasions.  The subject was arrested for Trespass after Warning and taken to the Sarasota County Jail.

11/06/20, 9:08 p.m.:  Campus Police received a report of the theft of a unlocked bike from an NCF student.  The bike was removed from the area of Z Residence Hall.  No serial number was available for the bike and the student declined prosecution.

11/06/20, 5:06 p.m.:  Campus Police received a report of the theft of a locked bike from an NCF student.  The bike was taken in October 2020 from the area of Pei Residence Hall South.  No serial number was available for the bike.

 

11/01/20, 9:16 a.m.:  Campus Police received a report from a resident of Goldstein Residence Hall that an unknown subject had entered their room and then left after they said something to the person.  Student Affairs was notified.  The area was checked with negative results and an alert was sent out to the community.

10/31/20, 3:04 a.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation near the NCF east campus.  The driver was issued a criminal summons in Sarasota County Court for No Driver’s License and released.

10/30/20, 4:53 a.m.:  Campus Police received a report from a resident of Goldstein Residence Hall that an unknown subject had entered their room and then left after they said something to the person.  Student Affairs was notified.  The area was checked with negative results and an alert was sent out to the community.

10/16/20, 2:33 p.m.: 
Campus Police received a report from an NCF staff member of the theft of two kayaks from the Caples Bayfront.

10/16/20, 7:33 a.m.:Campus Police received a report from an Uplands subdivision resident of a subject walking through yards and the USF side of the bayfront.  The non-affiliate was arrested for a Sarasota Court warrant and taken to the Sarasota County Jail.

10/07/20, 9:44 a.m.:  Campus Police received a sexual assault report from a former NCF student for incidents that occurred between 2003 and 2006.  The matter is under investigation.

09/25/20, 2:42 p.m.:  Campus Police received a report from an NCF staff member of the theft of five kayaks belonging to the college from the Caples bayfront.  The matter remains under investigation.

09/24/20, 3:22 p.m
:  Campus Police discovered a non-affiliate on the east campus.  Investigation revealed the subject had a warrant out of Sarasota County Court for Violation of Pretrial Release.  The subject was taken to the Sarasota County Jail.


09/20/20, 10:48 p.m.
:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliate for a traffic violation near the USFSM campus.  The driver was issued a criminal summons for Driving without a License in Manatee County Court and released.

09/19/20, 6:27 a.m.: 
Campus Police discovered a subject walking two bikes near the Pei Residence Halls.  Upon seeing Campus Police, the subject dropped the bikes and fled toward the Asolo Theatre.  A check of the entire area proved negative.  One bike was registered with Campus Police and it was returned to an NCF student.  That student declined to prosecute.  The second bike was placed into found property for return to the rightful owner.  Evidence was collected at the scene and the matter remains under investigation.

09/18/20, 9:13 a.m.:
 Campus Police received a report from an NCF staff member of criminal mischief to Dort Residence Hall.  “F*** Snitches” was painted on a wall.

09/16/20, 3:42 p.m
.:  Campus Police received a report from an NCF student of the theft of an unsecured bike from the area of Dort Residence Hall between September 11 and 16, 2020.  The bike was registered with Campus Police and was able to be entered into the national database.


09/16/20, 4:24 a.m.:
  Campus Police discovered two non-affiliates attempting to remove a bike from the area of Z Residence Hall.  One subject was released pending further investigation.  The second was arrested for Petit Theft, Possession of Burglary Tools, Loitering and Prowling, and taken to the Sarasota County Jail.  Both subjects were issued No Trespass Orders and the matter remains under investigation.

09/12/20, 11:07 p.m.:  Campus Police received a report from an NCF student of a non-affiliate who had asked her “Is this where you guys get naked, drink and party” behind College Hall.  The subject was located on the Dort Promenade and was arrested for Trespass after Warning from a previous No Trespass Order issued on August 30, 2020.  He was also arrested for Resisting an Officer without Violence.  The subject was taken to the Sarasota County Jail.

09/10/20, 2:08 p.m.:  Campus Police received a report from an NCF student of the theft of her secured bike from the area of Z Residence Hall.  The victim declined to prosecute.

09/10/20, 12:12 p.m.:  Campus Police received a report from an NCF student of the theft of her unsecured bike from the area of Z Residence Hall.  The bike was entered into the national database.

09/09/20, 1:32 p.m.:
 Campus Police received a report of a stolen bike from outside of Z Residence Hall from an NCF student.  The bike’s lock was cut.  The bike was entered into the national database.

09/05/20, 2:32 a.m
.:  Campus Police received an anonymous report of marijuana being used in B Residence Hall.  Investigation revealed that an NCF student was in possession of drug paraphernalia, a controlled substance, and over 20 grams of marijuana.  Student Affairs was notified and at the scene.  Charges are pending in Sarasota County Court for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana over 20 Grams, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  The student will also be referred to Student Affairs for violation of the NCF Drug Policy and violation of the housing contract for tampering with a smoke detector.

.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation near the east NCF campus.  The driver was issued a criminal summons for Knowingly Driving While License Suspended in Sarasota County Court and released.

08/29/20, 8:08 p.m.:  Campus Police observed a traffic violation near the east campus.  The non-affiliated driver was issued a criminal traffic summons for Never Having a Driver’s License in Sarasota County Court and was released.

08/23/20, 11:15 a.m.:
 Campus Police stopped a non-affiliate for a traffic violation near the USFSM Viking campus.  The driver was issued a criminal summons for Knowingly Driving While Suspended in Sarasota County Court and released.

08/22/20, 10:35 p.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation that occurred on US 41 near College Drive.  The driver was arrested for No Driver’s License and taken to the Sarasota County Jail.


08/22/20, 6:36 p.m.:
Campus Police received a report from an NCF student of marijuana being smoked in Palmer B Residence Hall.  Investigation revealed that four NCF students were smoking marijuana in a room.  The marijuana was placed into evidence.  All four students will be referred to Student Affairs.

08/22/20, 2:50 a.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation near US 41 and College Drive.  The driver was issued a criminal summons for Knowingly Driving While Suspended in Sarasota County Court and released.


08/09/20, 7:52 a.m.: 
Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation near the east NCF campus.  The subject was arrested for a Failure to Appear warrant and issued a criminal summons for Knowingly Driving While Suspended in Sarasota County Court.  The subject was taken to the Sarasota County Jail.

08/08/20, 7:31 p.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation near the east NCF campus.  The driver was issued a criminal summons for Knowingly Driving While Suspended in Sarasota County Court and released.

08/07/20, 11:49 p.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation near the USFSM Viking Campus.  The driver was issued a criminal summons for Knowingly Driving While Suspended in Sarasota County Court and released.

07/16/20, 2:39 p.m.:
 Campus Police stopped a traffic violator near the USFSM Viking campus.   The driver was found to have a suspended driver’s license and an altered Florida license plate.  The driver was issued a criminal traffic summons for Knowingly Driving While Suspended in Sarasota County Court and released.

07/12/20, 7:46 a.m.:
  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliate for a traffic violation near the east NCF campus.  The driver was issued a criminal summons for expired driver’s license more than 6 months in Sarasota County Court and released.

06/30/20, 12:22 a.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliate for a traffic violation near the USFSM Viking campus.  The driver was issued a traffic warning and a Criminal Summons for a registration violation in Sarasota County Court and released.

06/28/20, 11:53 a.m.:
 Campus Police stopped a vehicle near the east NCF campus that appeared to be smoking or on fire.  The non-affiliated driver was found to not have a driver’s license.  The driver was issued a criminal summons for Driving without a Driver’s License in Sarasota County Court and released.

05/30/20, 10:53 a.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation.   The driver was issued a criminal summons in Sarasota County for driving with an expired driver’s license over six months (over 8 years) and released.

05/14/20, 9:19 a.m.: 
Campus Police received a report from an NCF student that her unsecured and unregistered bike was removed from the area of B Residence Hall sometime since March of 2020.

04/30/20, 3:12 p.m.:  
Campus Police received a report from USFSM Facilities of an outside door to a storage area that had been pried open.  This same door was discovered unsecured by Campus Police on 05/02/20.  

03/30/20, 7:15 a.m.:  Campus Police received a report from an NCF staff member of a suspicious subject neat Z Residence Hall.  The non-affiliated subject was previously issued a No Trespass Order.  The subject was issued a Notice to Appear in Sarasota County Court for Trespass After Warning and released.

03/25/20, 7:19 p.m.:
  Campus Police discovered three NCF student trespassing in an unoccupied building on campus.  The students will be referred to Student Affairs.

03/08/20, 9:03 p.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation near the east campus.  The driver was arrested for Driving While License Suspended/Habitual Traffic Violator and taken to the Sarasota County Jail.

02/27/20, 3:13 p.m.:  Campus Police received a report of the theft of an unlocked bike from an NCF student near B Residence Hall.  The bike was registered with Campus Police, but was not entered into the national crime database as the victim declined to prosecute.

02/27/20, 11:39 a.m.:  Campus Police received a report from an NCF staff member of possible drug use on campus.  Investigation revealed two students in possession of marijuana that will be referred to Student Affairs for violation of the college’s drug policy.

02/12/20, 1:01 p.m.:  Campus Police received a report from an NCF student of the theft of a bike from the area of the Cook Library.  The bike was not registered with Campus Police and was unlocked.

02/07/20, 9:22 a.m.:  Campus Police received a report from an NCF staff member of damage to a stone wall near Z Residence Hall.

12/22/19, 5:39 a.m.:  Campus Police responded to a one car property damage hit and run crash on USFSM property.  Investigation revealed that the vehicle in the crash was reported stolen out of Ohio.

11/23/19, 7:35 p.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver near the east campus for a traffic violation.  The subject was issued a criminal summons in Sarasota County Court for Driving While License Permanently Revoked and released.

11/20/19, 11:20 a.m.Campus Police received a report of the theft of credit cards from offices in Cook Hall.  The cards were later used off-campus to make purchases.

11/15/19, 11:30 p.m.:  Campus Police discovered two NCF students in possession of marijuana near Pei Residence Hall South.  The students will be referred to Student Affairs for violation of the NCF drug policy and failure to comply with instructions.

11/13/19, 10:50 a.m.:  
Campus Police received a report of criminal mischief to a lock in the Heiser Natural Sciences building from an NCF staff member.

11/07/19, 11:11 a.m.:  Campus Police received a report of the theft of college property from the Physical Plant complex.

10/31/19, 11:13 p.m.
:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation on the east campus.  The driver was issued a criminal summons in Sarasota County Court for Knowingly Driving While Suspended or Revoked and was released.

10/25/19, 3:30 p.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver on the west NCF campus for a traffic violation.  Investigation revealed that the driver had two warrants out of Sarasota County.  The driver was issued a No Trespass Order and a citation for Driving While License Suspended.  He was taken to the Sarasota County Jail.

10/20/19, 4:55 p.m
.: 
Campus Police received an anonymous report of drug use by an NCF student.  Student Affairs staff arrived and assisted Campus Police.  The suspected drugs were placed into evidence and the student was referred to Student Affairs.

10/07/19, 6:45 p.m.:  Campus Police received information regarding an NCF student.  Further investigation resulted in the discovery of close to two pounds of suspected marijuana in the student’s residence hall room.  The student was released pending further investigation.  Notifications were made to Student Affairs and Administration.

10/07/19, 1:30 p.m.Campus Police received a report of the theft of equipment from an NCF vendor contracted by PHS.  The equipment was stored in the Economy Parking Lot, PL2.

09/29/19, 1:00 a.m.Campus Police observed an NCF student attempt to conceal an alcoholic beverage near Pei Residence Hall South.  Another student obstructed the investigation and was taken to the Campus Police Department for further investigation.  Both students will be referred to Student Affairs for violation of college regulations.  The matter remains under investigation as to the filing of criminal charges for Possession of Alcohol under 21 and Obstructing an Officer without Violence in Sarasota County court.  

09/26/19, 11:30 a.m.:  Campus Police received a report from an NCF student of criminal mischief to a United State flag hanging outside of his room in Pei Residence Hall East.  This is the second time a flag has been damaged at the same location.

09/26/19, 10:35 a.m.:  Campus Police received a report from an NCF student of a stolen bike from the area of Pei Residence Hall West.  The bike was locked and was registered by Campus Police.  The bike was entered into the national crime database.

09/19/19, 6:00 p.m.:  Campus Police assisted NCF Human Resources with an employee related issue.  A capias for Simple Assault will be sent to the State Attorney’s Office.

09/14/19, 11:50 p.m
.:  Campus Police discovered a student smoking cigarettes in Pei Residence Hall East.  Further investigation revealed two NCF students were in possession of marijuana and/or paraphernalia.  Student Affairs staff were on scene.  The students were referred to Student Affairs.

09/14/19, 11:14 p.m.:  Campus Police discovered an NCF student in possession of alcohol under the age of 21 in Pei Residence Hall East.  The student was referred to NCF Student Affairs.

09/13/19, 3:29 p.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation near the east NCF campus.  The driver was issued a criminal summons for No Valid Driver’s License in Sarasota County Court and was released.

09/13/19, 3:39 a.m.:  Campus Police discovered an NCF student in possession of marijuana on the east campus near the softball field.  The suspected marijuana was confiscated and the student will be referred to Student Affairs.

09/06/19. 11:46 p.m.:  Campus Police conducted alcohol checks at a party in and near Z Residence Hall.  NCF students were referred to Student Affairs for possession of alcohol by persons under 21.

09/04/19, 2:14 p.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation near the east NCF campus.  The driver was issued a criminal summons for Expired Driver’s License More Than 6 Months (2005) in Sarasota County Court and released.

08/31/19, 9:54 a.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation near the east campus.  The driver was issued a criminal summons in Sarasota County Court for Operating without a Valid Driver’s License and released.

08/31/19, 11:02 p.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation near the east campus.  The driver was arrested for Driving While Suspended or Revoked (Habitual Traffic Offender) and taken to the Sarasota County Jail.  The driver had been suspended since 2008.


08/27/19, 3:21 p.m.
:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation near the east NCF campus.  The driver was issued a criminal summons for an expired driver’s license (2003) in Sarasota County Court and released.

08/24/19, 10:27 a.m.:  Campus Police received a report from an NCF student of an unlocked bike that was stolen from the area of Goldstein Residence Hall.  The student declined to prosecute.

08/16/19, 10:30 p.m.:  Campus Police observed a non-affiliated driver near the east NCF campus commit a traffic violation.  The driver was issued a criminal summons for Driving While License Suspended or Revoked in Sarasota County Court and released.

08/15/19, 6:39 p.m.:  Campus Police discovered an illegally parked vehicle near a PEI Residence Hall.  Investigation revealed the non-affiliated owner was a PHS vendor with a suspended driver’s license.  The subject was arrested for a Hillsborough County warrant for battery and taken to the Sarasota County Jail.  A powdery substance found on the subject will be tested and further charges are pending lab results.

08/09/19, 9:53 p.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliate for a traffic violation near the east NCF campus.  The driver was issued a criminal summons for No Valid Driver’s License in Sarasota County Court and released.

08/08/19, 2:54 p.m.:  Campus Police received a report from an NCF staff member of graffiti on the NCF overpass.  A surveillance camera in the area was reported inoperable on July 6th and was unable to be used to assist in the investigation.  A work order was completed to have the graffiti removed.

07/21/19, 3:21 p.m.: Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation on the east campus.  The driver was issued a criminal traffic summons in Sarasota County Court for Knowingly Driving While License Suspended or Revoked and was released.

06/30/19, 9:21 p.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver near the east campus.  The driver was arrested for Driving While License Suspended or Revoked and taken to the Sarasota County Jail.  Suspected crack cocaine and marijuana confiscated from the driver will be tested and charges may be submitted pending the results.

06/18/19, 4:35 p.m.: 
 Campus Police observed a traffic violation near the east NCF campus.  The non-affiliated driver was arrested for Driving While License Suspended or Revoked and taken to the Manatee County Jail.

06/14/19, 8:14 p.m.:
 Campus Police stooped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic offense on the west NCF campus.  The driver was arrested for Knowingly Driving While Suspended and Possession of Marijuana Under 20 Grams and taken to the Sarasota County Jail.

06/12/19, 10:29 p.m:   Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation on US 41 near the west NCF campus.  The driver was issued a criminal summons for Knowingly Driving While License Suspended or Revoked in Sarasota County Court and was released.

06/09/19, 3:37 a.m:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation south of the NCF campus.  The driver was issued a criminal summons in Sarasota County Court for Driving While Never Having a License Issued and released.

05/27/19, 12:25 p.m.:  Campus Police received a report from a non-affiliate of the theft of items from her unlocked vehicle while parked on the west campus in Parking Lot #5.

05/26/19. 9:33 p.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation near the east campus.  The driver was issued a criminal summons in Sarasota County Court for Driver’s License Never Issued and released.

05/24/19, 12:16 p.m.:  
Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation on the east campus.  The driver was issued a criminal summons in Sarasota County Court for Driver’s License Never Issued and released.

05/20/19, 9:59 a.m:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliated driver for a traffic violation on US 41 near College Drive.  The driver was cited for Knowingly Driving While License Suspended or Revoked in Sarasota County Court and released.

: Campus Police investigated the theft of an NCF student’s unlocked bicycle by the ACE building for approximately one hour  Video cameras captured a person removing the bike continuing southbound on College Drive. A search of the immediate area and local businesses was negative.   

04/18/19, 10:30 p.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliate for a traffic violation on College Drive and Bay Shore Road.  Investigation revealed that the driver had failed to register the vehicle.  The driver was issued a criminal summons for Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle in Sarasota County Court and released.

04/18/19, 10:27 a.m.:  Campus Police received a report of a disabled motorist on US 41 and College Drive.  While assisting the non-affiliated driver it was discovered that his driver’s license expired in 2011.  The driver was given a criminal summons for driving with an Expired Driver’s License Greater than 6 Months in Sarasota County Court and released.

02/17/19, 2:01 a.m.:  Campus Police received a report of a found wallet in Hamilton Center.  Investigation revealed the wallet’s owner had a warrant out of Sarasota County for Failure to Appear.  The subject was arrested and taken to the Sarasota County Jail.

01/31/19, 1:31 a.m.:  Campus Police responded to an alarm coming from the fire panel for Goldstein Residence Hall. As a result of that call, an NCF student was found in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The student was referred to Student Affairs.

01/29/19, 11:51 a.m.:  Campus Police received a report from an NCF student of the theft of an unsecured, unregistered bike from the area of Pei Residence Hall South. The student declined to prosecute.

01/14/19, 9:35 p.m.:  Campus Police stopped a non-affiliate for a traffic violation on the east NCF campus. Investigation revealed that the tag was not assigned to the vehicle. The subject was issued a criminal traffic summons for Attached Tag not Assigned in Sarasota County Court and released.

09/01/18, 9:00 a.m.:  Campus Police located a non-affiliate near the USFSM campus.  A complaint had been filed by a USFSM student advising that this subject had been harassing her following a break-up.  A domestic violence injunction previously obtained by the student was served prior to transport to the Manatee County jail for a charge of No Driver’s License.

08/27/18, 3:41 p.m.: Campus Police received a report of a suspicious person on the east NCF campus from an NCF staff member.  The non-affiliated subject was located at the Shell Station.  Investigation revealed a criminal warrant out of Manatee County for probation and other violations.  The subject was taken to the Sarasota County Jail.

07/31/18, 12:36 p.m. Campus Police received a report from a non-affiliate who says she was sexually battered on the NCF campus in April 2018.  Originally the case was reported to the Sarasota Police Department.  They are no suspects and the case remains under investigation.

07/23/18, 3:42 a.m.:  Campus Police stopped a bicyclist on US 41 and Edwards Drive for a traffic violation and discovered that he had a warrant out of Hillsborough County.  The non-affiliated subject was taken to the Sarasota County Jail.

05/02/18, 10:20 p.m.: Campus Police received a report from an NCF student regarding the theft of a registered unlocked bike outside of Dort Residence Hall. The victim declined to prosecute and the incident was documented.

04/17/18, 9:00 a.m.: Campus Police are investigating a grand theft of cash and property from Pei Residence Hall. A student reported allowing a non-affiliate to spend the night in his room. After returning from class, he found the cash and items missing and the guest gone. Sarasota Police are assisting with the investigation. A copy of the report will be sent to Student Affairs. 04/14/18, 4:30 a.m.: A sexual battery was reported to police involving an NCF student and non-affiliate. The alleged incident occurred on the hill overlooking US 41 behind the library. The student was transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital. This is an active criminal investigation. 02/10/18, 6:45 p.m.: Campus Police attempted to stop a traffic violator on US 41 south of General Spaatz Blvd. The vehicle fled and struck a car driven by a non-affiliate in the area of US 41 and University Parkway. The Sarasota Police Department handled the investigation of the hit and run

01/29/18, 3:46 p.m.: Campus Police recovered a stolen license plate from a student’s vehicle parked in PL #2A of off General Spaatz after the car was ticketed by Parking Services.  The plate was entered as stolen by the Sarasota Sheriff’s Office.  The student was unaware that the stolen plate was on his car.  During the investigation it was discovered that the license plate that had been legally assigned to the student’s car had been recently recovered by the Manatee Sheriff’s Office.

01/21/18, 1:25 p.m.: Campus Police received a report from an NCF student of a stolen bike that was last seen locked near Z Residence Hall. The bike was entered into the national database.

01/16/18, 12:32 a.m.: Campus Police located a vehicle on Bay Shore and College Drive with an equipment violation. The vehicle fled and was located in a hotel parking lot off of University Parkway near the SRQ Airport. The vehicle had also struck a pedestrian traffic signal and left the scene. The investigation was turned over to the Sarasota Police Department.

01/08/18, 3:35 p.m.:  USFSM IT reported that a computer was missing some random access memory (RAM).  The computer was opened and the RAM was removed.

  Campus Police stopped a vehicle near Bay Shore Road and College Drive for a traffic violation.  The vehicle had just left the west NCF campus.  The non-affiliated driver was issued a No Trespass Order, a traffic citation and released.  A small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia were confiscated from the vehicle and placed into evidence.

02/11/17, 2:08 a.m.: Campus Police discovered a Ringling student in Hamilton Center who was previously denied entry into the Valentine Party due to the use of a fake wristband. The subject became uncooperative and interfered with police after being warned. The subject was arrested for Resisting Law Enforcement without violence and issued a No Trespass Order prior to being transported to the Sarasota County Jail. 02/05/17, 11:12 a.m.:  Campus Police received anonymous information regarding an NCF student from the Sarasota Sheriff’s Office.  The matter was investigated and no criminal charges were filed at this time. 05/25/16, 1:52 p.m.:  Campus Police received a report from a NCF staff member of a subject trying door handles on cars in the Economy Parking Lot, PL2.  The subject fled and was apprehended on the USFSM campus by Campus Police.  Property from a NCF student was recovered during the investigation.  The non-affiliate was charged with three counts of Attempted Vehicle Burglary, Vehicle Burglary, Fleeing Law Enforcement, and Trespass After Warning.  The subject was taken to the Manatee County Jail.

05/20/16, 12:50 PM:  Campus Police received a report from a New College student that her vehicle was stolen from campus while parked in PL#4A, the Sudakoff Lot.  The keys were left in the vehicle and it was unlocked.  The vehicle was entered as stolen and a message was sent to local agencies.  A copy of the report will be sent to Student Affairs and EH &S. The student and her two invited guests were ingesting a hallucinogen prior to the incident. 03/13/16, 10:56 p.m.:  Campus Police responded to W Residence Hall due to a report of a fire hazard from a New College staff member.  The hazard was removed and the student was referred for a violation of Residence Hall policies. 03/12/16, 11:17 p.m.:  Campus Police responded to an alarm coming from the fire panel for Z Residence Hall #5255 caused by an e-cigarette.  The alarm panel displayed, Supervisory ACT 00001, 5255 Main, Smoke. The alarm panel was silenced and reset. While investigating the alarm, an underage New College student in the room was found to be in possession of alcoholic beverages. 02/10/16, 9:59 a.m.: Campus Police received a report of a stolen bike from the area of Pei Residence Hall South owned by a New College student. The student was responding to the community alert. The bike was located off campus at a pawn shop by Campus Police. Charges are pending with the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office on this case and a warrant has been issued for a previous bike theft on campus.

02/09/16, 12:19 p.m.: Campus Police received a report of a stolen bike from the area of the ACE building. A suspect is seen on camera dropping off a bike and then taking a bike belonging to an NCF student. The bike left behind was placed into found property. Upon arrival, Campus Police observed the machine’s front glass was unlawfully removed and several items were taken. 12/03/15, 1:45 a.m.: Campus Police received a report from a New College student regarding the theft of her unlocked bike from the Four Winds Cafe. A short time later an officer discovered a nonaffiliated subject at the bus stop on General Spaatz Blvd. who was in possession of the stolen bike. The subject was arrested for theft, issued a No Trespass Order and taken to the Sarasota County Jail to appear in Sarasota County Court. A copy of the report will be sent to Student Affairs. 09/06/15, 5:43 a.m.: Campus Police discovered a suspicious vehicle parked in the roadway on General Twining near General Spaatz Boulevard. Investigation revealed that the non-affiliated driver was operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and in was possession of an open container of alcohol. The driver was issued a no-trespass order, a traffic citation and a summons in Sarasota Court.

08/21/15, 7:21 p.m.: Campus Police responded to a report from an NCF staff member of possible drug use in Goldstein Residence Hall. An NCF student was arrested for possession of marijuana under 20 grams and possession of paraphernalia. He was taken to the Sarasota County Jail. Additional drug evidence was confiscated by Campus Police and the Sarasota Police Department which will be analyzed.  Additional changes may be forthcoming pending lab results. 08/19/15, 9:25 p.m.: Campus Police responded to an alarm coming from the fire panel at Goldstein Residence Hall Room 101 reading 0001 Supervisory Act Room 101C P: 01 C: 02 D: 0006 Supervisory Act Relay Confm Act. The alarm was silenced and reset. Investigation revealed the room’s occupants had covered the smoke detector and had just smoked marijuana and were drinking underage. A CLC was notified and the students involved were referred to Student Affairs in violation of the drug/alcohol policy.  A copy of the report will be sent to Student Affairs and the CWC. 06/12/15, 7:16 p.m.: Campus Police discovered a non-affiliated subject operating a vehicle on the fire lane in the area of the Pei Residence Halls. Investigation determined the subject was possibly under the influence of alcohol and a Sarasota County deputy with the DUI Unit was requested to the scene. The subject was subsequently charged with driving under the influence and taken to the Sarasota County Jail to appear in Sarasota County Court.

Sarasota County Fire Department did not respond due to a miscommunication with the alarm company. A check of video in the area revealed the suspect had left eventually turning South on U.S. 41.  A follow up to a previous theft alert email was sent out with a photo of the suspect. Investigation revealed a non-affiliated subject had made physical contact with a New College student without her consent. The student was uninjured as the result of the contact and signed a Decline to Prosecute waiver. Further investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by a non-affiliate had crashed into a pile of brick pavers stored near the roadway and then fled the scene. The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Department subsequently stopped the vehicle on Lockwood Ridge Road. Campus Police brought the driver back to campus where he was issued a Traffic Citation for Careless Driving and a Criminal Traffic Citation for Leaving the Scene of a Traffic Crash. The subject was subsequently taken to a local mental health treatment facility under a Baker Act. The subject was with Careless Driving and Criminal Mischief in Sarasota County Court. 02/13/14, 1:45 PM: Campus Police located a non-affiliated subject in Parking Lot #1 East of Hamilton Center that had been previously issued a No Trespass Order. The subject was arrested for Trespass after Warning and transported to the Sarasota County Jail without incident.

02/05/14, 8:53 PM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Staff Member in the Cook Library regarding a suspicious person. Campus Police located the subject who is a USFSM Student. The Student was referred to USFSM Student Services for his involvement in two previous indecency issues from late 2013 that had occurred inside the Cook Library.  A copy of the report will be sent to USFSM Student Services, USFSM Administration, and NCF Library Administration. 02/02/14, 7:41 PM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Student regarding a theft from her Pei Residence Hall East dorm room. The incident was documented. A copy of the report will be sent to Student Affairs. (2014-0126)

01/29/14, 9:16 AM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Physical Plant Staff Member regarding the theft of backpack blower from his campus vehicle parked in the shed area near Physical Plant. The serial number was entered into the national database.  A copy of the report will be sent to Physical Plant and Environmental Health and safety. (2014-0113)

01/25/14, 4:39 AM: Campus Police stopped a vehicle in the fire lane near Z Green and after an investigation the non-affiliated driver was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. The subject was checked, issued a No Trespass Order and taken to the Sarasota County Jail. (2014-0097)

01/19/14, 9:44 PM: Campus Police received a report from a New College Student regarding the theft of her locked bicycle from the bike rack located near X Residence Hall. There were no serial numbers available and the bike could not be entered into the nationwide database. (2013-0081)
