Notice: Fall 2021 Reopening Plan

New College of Florida plans to return to in-person instruction, research and co-curricular activities for the Fall 2021 semester. We will continue to follow CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19 and plan to fully reopen in August based on scientific forecasts that the virus will be largely under control by this summer.

The department is located at 501 College Drive (CPD) on the New College of Florida Campus. The department’s dispatch office is always open, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The mailing address is: 5800 Bay Shore Road, CPD, Sarasota, FL 34243.

Staff

Campus Police are proud members of the Florida Police Chiefs Association (FPCA) and the Association of Public Safety-Communications Officials (APCO). As state-certified law enforcement officers, our primary mission is to protect you and your property. Report all suspicious persons, accidents and/or incidents to the campus police immediately.

If you would like to register a concern, complaint or compliment about a Campus Police employee, please contact Captain Kathleen Vacca at kvacca@ncf.edu or Chief Mike Kessie at mkessie@ncf.edu. You can also call 941-487-4210.  We encourage the community to help us improve on our weaknesses and let us know about our strengths when we do something positive. There is also a Campus Police Service Survey where you can give a quick comment about police services.

State and Federal Initiatives

Campus Police has participated in the voluntary US Department of Justice National Use-of-Force Data Collection initiative since its inception in January 2019 and the voluntary Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Use of Force Data Collection initiative since its inception in September 2020.
Campus Police fully complies with Presidential Executive Order #13929 on Safe Policing for Safe Communities.
