Teachers and State Workers Benefit From $74.5 Billion State Budget

Teachers, state workers, public schools and Southwest Florida projects are among the beneficiaries in the $74.5 billion state budget bill issued Monday afternoon, clearing the way for a timely adjournment of the annual legislative session by Friday. … New College of Florida will receive $2.1 million in funding for renovations at the Cook Library. Under the capital improvement fee program, New College could see more than $600,000 in additional improvements, including $150,000 for the college’s fitness center, $100,000 for the Four Winds Café, $250,000 for the Hamilton Student Center and $154,055 for waterfront recreation.
