Fifteen volunteers showed up at New College of Florida on Nov. 6 to begin a four-week class on Volunteer Income Tax Assistance. This is the fifth year United Way Suncoast has hosted the VITA program in Sarasota County. Last year, 55 volunteers processed more 900 tax returns, contributing about 1,800 hours. New College of Florida donated a computer lab for the course, equipping each volunteer with a PC.
