The fourth annual Fun and Fitness Expo took over campus at New College of Florida this afternoon.

Organizers say it began as a way to get students involved in the community, but has grown into a community event.

“It started as a way to promote our Counseling and Wellness Center serving both New College and USF Sarasota-Manatee, and to promote holistic healthy living both for our students and the Sarasota-Bradenton community. It’s to help the students become aware of what’s in the community, services and what have you, and to connect the students with the community,” says Fun and Fitness Expo Co-chair Erin Robinson.

The Counseling and Wellness Center is shared by New College and USF Sarasota-Manatee, which fittingly, organized the event.

“We focus a lot on healthy living, and part of being healthy is knowing when to take a break, have fun, eat and take care of yourself, so all the vendors here are connected to health in some way,” says Robinson.
