The New York Times newsroom will welcome its third Times Fellowship class in June. After evaluating more than 3,000 applications from a talented candidate pool, we’re thrilled to introduce the fellows, who represent 17 U.S. states and Puerto Rico, Britain and Vietnam. They will begin their fellowship remotely, but it is our hope they will eventually be able to join their colleagues in New York, San Francisco, Washington and London.

One of the fellows is Giulia Heyward, a New College alumna. She studied journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s graduate school, where she was a Roy H. Park fellow. She has interned at national outlets including CNN and Politico, as well as the local magazines Washington Monthly and Sarasota Magazine. Her work has been published in The New York Times, The Atlantic, HuffPost and The New Republic. Originally from Miami, she holds both American and Italian citizenship.
