MANATEE — State College of Florida Sarasota-Manatee and New College of Florida were subjects of appointments and reappointments Friday from Gov. Rick Scott.
The appointments:
• Charlene Lenger to the New College of Florida Board of Trustees.
Lenger, 58, of Sarasota, the owner of Tropex Plant Leasing since 1981, is a member of the New College Foundation and the Zona Club of Sarasota. She previously served as chairwoman of the Goodwill Manasota Inc. Board of Directors. Lenger received her bachelor’s degree from New College of Florida. She is appointed to fill a vacant seat created by the passing of former state Sen. Bob Johnson for a term ending Jan. 1, 2020.
