New College flag football team captain Michael Long thought he’d thrown a touchdown. He turned to a crowd of New College of Florida and Ringling College of Art and Design students and parents and raised his arms in celebration. There was a lot at stake at the Sarasota Football Showdown, a charity flag football game between Ringling College and New College that has grown into a competitive, fun-filled afternoon celebration.
