Poet, filmmaker and award-winning journalist Anastacia Tolbert will lead a writing workshop and give a performance at the Four Winds Café on February 16.  The theme of the workshop is “Sound in Writing.”  The workshop begins at 5:30 pm.  The performance will begin at 7:30 pm. Both events are free and open to the public. Theses events are sponsored by the Academic Resource Center and the Division of Humanities at New College of Florida.

Tolbert is the Resident Writer at the Seattle Girls School.  Her poetry and prose have appeared in Alehouse Journal, The Drunken Boat, Essence and San Diego City Beat, as well as in the anthologies Cave Canem XI, Check the Rhyme: An Anthology of Female Poets & Emcees, and I Woke Up and Put My Crown On: 76 Voices of African American Women.
