The Office of Communications and Marketing at New College of Florida has won two awards from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
CASE Region III recognized the New College Communications team with Special Merit awards for its Valentine’s Day 2014 promotional event and for overall excellence in photography.
For the Valentine’s Day 2014 event, President Don O’Shea signed more than 1,200 valentines, one for every student and member of the faculty and staff. The event also included a contest where students created valentines for President O’Shea. The promotion received local and national media coverage, and was widely distributed on social media.
The photography award is for a portfolio of new work depicting academic, student life and the historic Sarasota Bay campus of New College.
“These projects were a true team effort. The Valentine’s Day project was a collaborative, all-hands-on-deck success that garnered national media attention and goodwill from across the campus and beyond to our alumni community,” said Jessica Rood, director of communications and marketing at New College.
“I especially want to thank Kim Butler and Dave Gulliver for their work on these projects – they are exemplars in the field of higher education communications and marketing. Their leadership and expertise garnered New College the attention it deserves.”
The awards were announced Tuesday, Feb. 17, at the CASE regional conference in Orlando. CASE is an organization of advancement professionals working in the field of alumni relations, communications and philanthropy.  CASE Region III includes colleges, universities and nonprofits in the southeastern United States.
