New College Aims to Grow Student Enrollment, Faculty and Staff
New College of Florida recently announced plans to grow student enrollment and faculty positions by 50 percent and staffing positions by 20 percent by 2023. The new state budget, recently approved by Gov. Rick Scott, provides $5.4 million to fund the first phase of the college’s growth plan. The inaugural phase will see New College recruit 15 new faculty members for the 2017-2018 school year and add 40 more professors total in the next three years. The college wants to simultaneously increase enrollment to 900 by the 2018-2019 school year and to 1,200 by the 2022-2023 school year.
