MelEcho Entertainment’s Annual Holiday Music Café at the Van Wezel
As part of an ongoing partnership with local black business leaders, New College teamed again this year with the Black Business Professional Network, Echo-Luv, SNN 6 News, and Total Elegance Hair Salon to sponsor MelEcho Entertainment’s Annual Holiday Music Café at the Van Wezel Grand Foyer.
City Commissioner Fredd Atkins, BBPN President DeWanda Smith-Soeder, Sarasota NAACP president Trevor Harvey, SNN Sports Director Antawan Smith, Hab-i-tude.org CEO Marty Hurwitz, and New College staff and faculty were among the crowd dancing to soul and R&B from the 70s. The evening culminated with smooth jazz from 17-year-old sax phenom B.K. Jackson.
