Police to test campus notification system Thursday, Feb. 6

Campus Police will conduct a test of the NCF Campus Notification System at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6. This test will include the activation of the speaker arrays around the New College campus, as well as, the blue emergency phones equipped with speakers, Blackboard Connect system, which disseminates messages via email, phone, and text through various mechanisms around campus.

We have notified our local law enforcement partners and local neighborhood associations in case they receive calls about hearing the speaker announcements.

Most members of the campus community should receive test messages at the email and phone number(s) that were provided to Campus Police.  You also may be able to hear the exterior speaker test should you be in the immediate area of New College.

All New College students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to visit the NCFSafe emergency notification website to make sure your information is listed correctly.  The phone numbers and email addresses you have listed in NCFSafe should be the numbers by which we can notify you of a campus emergency, not your family members.  NCFSafe can be found in NewCLEIS by clicking here.

Thank you for your understanding and patience during this brief interruption, which should last just a few minutes.  The time of these tests have been changed so more of the community will be involved.  New College and Campus Police believe safety and security matters are very important to our community.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Campus Police at 941-487-4210.
