Mary Ruiz ’73 was elected chair of the New College Board of Trustees (BOT) on Sat. Aug. 29. She replaced Felice Schulaner ’78, who stepped down after serving two terms.
Ruiz is the former CEO of Centerstone of Florida and now heads her own consulting firm, Ruiz Strategic Advisors.
Ron Christaldi ’89 has replaced Ruiz as vice chair.
A partner in the law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, Christaldi has a broad practice in transactions and complex litigation. He also serves as the President/CEO of Shumaker Advisors Florida, LLC—a government relations and public affairs firm.
