The state’s designated honors college—located in Sarasota, Florida—recently accumulated a wealth of accolades:
- U.S. News & World Report ranked New College of Florida this year’s No. 5 National Liberal Arts College (Top Public Schools)
- New College of Florida was ranked among The Princeton Review’s “Best 388 Colleges” and “Best Value Colleges” in the country for 2023
- Fiske Guide recognized New College of Florida as a “Best Buy” college for 2023
- New College of Florida was named to Fortune’s “Best Master’s in Data Science Programs in 2022” list
- Washington Monthly named New College of Florida to the “2022 Best Colleges for Student Voting Honor Roll”
- New College of Florida is listed as a “College of Distinction” for 2022-2023

In addition to earning the No. 5 ranking from U.S. News & World Report, New College of Florida was also ranked No. 76 for National Liberal Arts Colleges (up six positions from last year, and the highest ranking New College has ever achieved in this category), No. 52 for Social Mobility in National Liberal Arts Colleges (a 15-position increase from last year), and No. 40 for Most Innovative Schools (National Liberal Arts Colleges).
“College choice is personal,” said David Boisvert, New College’s interim vice president for enrollment management. “Our rankings continue to elevate us, making a prospective student’s decision clearer as they choose an institution that will prepare them for a wealth of opportunities. We will continue to inspire students and brighten their futures.”
Every year since The Princeton Review began publishing its “best colleges” rankings in 1992, New College of Florida has made the list. The Princeton Review also ranked New College No. 3 for the Top 20 Best Schools for Making an Impact (Public Schools), and No. 7 for both the Top 20 Best Alumni Networks and the Top 20 Best Schools for Financial Aid (Public Schools).

There is a six-to-one student-to-faculty ratio and an average class size of 11, and every student is assigned an individual career coach.
