Description: Anna Lidia Vega Serova is a Cuban fiction writer, poet, and visual artist. She was born in Leningrad, Russia, in 1968 to a Cuban father and a Russian/Ukrainian mother. Soon after her birth, she returned to Cuba with her parents, lived there intermittently, and finally settled on the island. Among her publications are short-story collections Bad Painting (1997) and Limpiando ventanas y espejos (2000); the novels Noche de ronda (2001) and Ánima fatua (2007), and the poetry collection, Retazos (de las hormigas) para los malos tiempos (2004). “Vengo a ofrecer mi corazón” (I am coming to offer you my heart) is a talk about her creative work in the context of contemporary Cuba. The presentation will be in Spanish with an interpreter.
