DESCRIPTION:New College will host a Suncoast Community Blood Center blood drive on Wednesday\, May 1\, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in Sudakoff Conference Center. Online donor registration is now open: https://donor.suncoastblood.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/37885 \nPlease see the additional information below from Suncoast Community Blood Center: \nIf the donor knows their blood type and they are Neg type (A-\, B-\, or O-) or O+\, please consider scheduling a 2RBC Double as we are critically low in these blood types. It’s only 10 extra minutes compared to a standard donation. You get all your plasma and electrolytes back and have the potential to SAVE 6 LIVES.  \nIf the donor is AB- or AB+\, please consider scheduling a platelet appointment.  AB- and AB+ donors are universal donors for platelets\, meaning any patient can receive their platelets. \nWhen scheduling the appointment\, please look at the tabs and click on the correct one. \nFUN FACT: Only 3% of the population donates blood\, and that 3% makes up 100% of the Blood Supply.    \nThe majority of donations support cancer treatment in Sarasota County.
