The Center for Engagement and Opportunity and the New College Alumnae/i Association are proud to offer the Mentor Program to interested students and alumni. The Mentor Program is your chance to connect with current New College students and help them get the most out of their New College experience.
The cornerstone of the Mentor Program is our 1-on-1 mentoring program.
There are many ways to give back to New College in celebration of your years here, and the CEO’s New College Mentor Program is one of them.
What is the Mentor Program?
The program pairs a current NCF with a alumnae/i mentor in a career field that interests them. The Mentor Program has four main objectives:
What is mentoring?
Mentoring is a learning partnership where a more experienced mentor draws upon their knowledge, skills, life experience, and perspective to facilitate the personal and professional growth of a less experienced mentee.
A mentee takes an active role and responsibility for their own learning and development by choosing goals and making requests of their mentor. A mentor facilitates that growth by asking thought-provoking questions that help the mentee to reflect on their experiences. The intended outcome is that both the mentor and mentee benefit and are richer for the experience.
Students interested in the program should contact Michelle Flint, firstname.lastname@example.org or 941-487-4451, to set up an appointment.
Alumnae/i interested in the program can complete the Mentorship Application form.
