Saturday, August 13:

9 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Check-in / Move-in
Location: Harry Sudakoff Conference Center

Get your room keys, take your New College ID photo and get your Parking Permit (if needed).

Bring any immunization forms, final transcripts or business forms you have not yet submitted. ‘If you are bringing any of these documents with you, then the bill that you received from the College at the beginning of August does NOT include Tuition and Fees.  Please check your NewCleis account to get your correct balance owed. 

New students need a photo ID (such as a driver’s license). Students begin in the main (covered) entrance facing Sudakoff parking lot. If available, please pack a dolly or hand cart to help you move into your room. Parking is very limited near the residence halls.

8 a.m. to noon: Mailroom is open for package pick-up
Location:  Palmer A, First Floor

10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Parking and Business Office Open Hours
Location: Palmer D (PMD 123)

The Parking and Business Offices are open. Bring a photo ID (such as a driver’s license) and your New College student identification number (N#1022…). For parking permits you will need your current vehicle’s registration and fee payment.

1-3 p.m.:  Counseling and Wellness Center Open Hours
Location: Counseling and Wellness Center (CWC) – Palmer Campus, across from Library

2-3:30 p.m.  Family Reception
Location: The Keating Center, Bayfront Campus

Please join the New College Alumnae/i Association (NCAA) and Foundation for a special parents’ reception.  Meet and mingle with our staff, alumnae/i and volunteer board members as you learn about NCAA programs, events and services that benefit your student. Discover fun ways to engage and support New College through our various volunteer programs. Food and drinks will be provided at this free event for new parents and guardians.

Sunday, August 14:    

10 a.m. to noon:  President’s Welcome / Partners for Student Success
Location: Sudakoff Conference Center

Dr. Donal O’Shea welcomes families to New College. Families learn how to work with various campus offices to help their students succeed at New College.  There will also be a Q&A with panel members, including the Provost, Dean of Students, Director of the Counseling and Wellness Center, Chief of Campus Police, and the Chief Information Officer.

11 a.m. to 1 p.m.:  Lunch
Location: Hamilton Center

Noon to 2 p.m.:  Library Resource Fair
Location: Jane Bancroft Cook Library

Library, Educational Technology, Language Lab, Off Campus Study,
Quantitative Resource Center, Writing Resource Center, Center for Engagement and Opportunity.

1-3:30 p.m.:  Parent Workshops / Break-out Sessions
Location: Academic Center (located across from Library)

Details are still pending. These sessions (you will be able to attend two different sessions, if you wish) will focus on topics particularly interesting to parents and family members including internships, student success, financial aid, tuition payments, and campus safety. Please check back for details, which will be posted as soon as possible.

3:30-5 p.m.: Ice Cream Social and Family Good-Bye
Location: Hamilton Center

Families and new students rejoin for ice cream and good-byes. New College staff and students will also be present to answer any final questions you may have.

5 p.m.:  Parent and Guardian Orientation ends.
